Last match victory retains Div.1 status.

The Men’s A team will play in Division 1 next year after a last-match-of-the-season victory secured their survival. Following a 10-6 defeat to their close relegation rivals Shepley A in the penultimate match of the season and with one match to play against 4th in the league Oakfield, it seemed the drop was on the cards.

However, the guys pulled out their best performance of the season to beat Oakfield 7-5 at home in a rain-affected match. The result means they finish 2 points above the drop zone, pushing Thongsbridge B into the second relegation spot.

It’s been a mainly positive season for the club with both Men’s A and Ladies’ teams retaining Div 1 status. The Men’s B team will play in Division 3 after their championship winning season and the Men’s C team will be back in division 5.
